Collective

Collective is the name of the schools band working across the SN postal code area. It shares its name with Collective bands already working in East Anglia and Kent. It shares its expertise with internationally recognised bands such as thebandwithnoname and tbc. All are part of the vision of Innervation, a Manchester-based trust dedicated to finding, training and releasing young people into music ministry, equipped with professionally produced music and dance choreography.

Innervation can draw on the expertise of founding members of The Tribe (formerly the World Wide Message Tribe), Mark Pennells and Zarc Porter. In 2002 Mark and Zarc got together with a couple of business people to form the Innervation Trust, partners with ncounter to find, train and support the Collective band based locally here.

At the heart of Innervations' work is the desire to reach young people with the good news of Jesus, harnessing the powerful influence of the pop music industry in the process. The young people in Collective undergo months of training in Manchester before they arrive in the region, enabling them to be highly professional in music and dance. Training also ensures band members can talk effectively about their faith, prepare and deliver lessons and assemblies in secondary schools, and can work confidently with churches and other organisations.
